This 4 week innovative program combines the creativity and problem-solving of LEGO Robotics with the energy and teamwork of Physical Education. Students explore STEM concepts through building and programming LEGO robots (using kits such as LEGO® Education SPIKE™, WeDo™, or Mindstorms®), while also participating in physical activities that reinforce robotics concepts, promote collaboration, and keep students active.
Each session blends:
Hands-on Robotics Challenges – Students work in teams to design, build, and code robots to complete missions, solve real-world problems, or compete in friendly challenges.
Active PE Activities – Through games and movement-based tasks, students simulate robotic behaviors, practice coding logic with physical movement, and engage in team-building exercises.
STEAM and Physical Literacy – Lessons are designed to build not only science and technology skills but also gross motor skills, spatial awareness, and healthy habits.
Goals:
Foster creativity, engineering, and coding skills through LEGO Robotics.
Promote teamwork, communication, and critical thinking.
Encourage movement and kinesthetic learning to deepen robotics concepts.
Help students make connections between physical movement and programming logic (e.g., sequencing, loops, sensors).
Grade Level: Typically for students in Grades 3–8, but can be adapted for younger or older learners.
Benefits:
Supports STEM education with a fun, active twist.
Encourages physical activity during technology-based learning.
Builds confidence and collaboration through hands-on and movement-based experiences

This Lego club started in 2011 in our local homeschool co op at the time. In 2017, I had some health issues while waiting for our 6th child and I took a break from teaching. The pandemic took place shortly after and in 2022, coach Rachel and I joined Saints International. We loved our students and the ministry. However in 2024, that season in our lives ended and God called us back to Lego. So here we are, better than before! We’re a Step Up Direct Provider and can’t wait to bring fun to learning!
Personal background: I have a Level 2 background check (Aug. ‘24), First Aid & CPR certification, 30 years of children’s ministry. I’ve homeschooled our 6 children for 15 years now and have a Bachelor’s in Psychology specializing in child Psychology. My biggest prayer for these workshops is for the kids to learn about God and His creation, build friendships, learn a sport, learn a scientific, historical concept and have fun!
